Sponsored Read - 11th June 2019

To celebrate and encourage a lifelong love of reading at home and school, we will be running a sponsored reading event in school on 11th June. We will be carrying out Literacy based challenges celebrating Empathy Day for the whole school day. In the run up to the event we are asking the children to collect Sponsorship.

The project is being organised in conjunction with our local Usborne Organiser, Sara Sumner and all the money raised will go towards brand new books for our school.

In addition to the sponsorship money, Usborne will also donate up to 60% of the total raised in EXTRA FREE BOOKS to the school. So for every £600 raised, we will get an extra £360 in FREE Usborne books!

Please help us to enhance our reading resources for pupils by supporting your child to collect what sponsorship they can. The school has had great success with this in the past and we would welcome your support again. Every child that takes part in the Empathy Day challenges will receive a certificate and bookmark.

If you are able to support our sponsored read, please download a sponsorship form for your child.

After the sponsored read, please send all the sponsorship money that your child has raised to the school in a named envelope (handed to their class teacher or to reception) by Friday 21st June at the latest.

If paying by cheque, please make it payable to Mrs Sara Sumner.

In addition, Sara will be holding a mini bookfair at our school fair on 22nd June. You will be able to purchase books from Sara on the day and she will add a % (up to 60%) of everything spent on the day to our total of free books. Please do come along to the fair and check out what books are for sale.

We look forward to having lots more books for your child to read, share and enjoy.
